What we keep, why we keep it, and how to make us get rid of it.
← back to the millThe short version. We don't run ads, we don't use tracking pixels, we don't sell anything about you, and there are no accounts to sign up for. We keep the handful of things you actively hand us — an email if you ask for the newsletter, your message if you write to us, your shipping details if you buy a shirt — and nothing else. We don't log your IP address or your browser.
Effective 22 August 2026. Applies to dahntahnduels.com, the browser demo hosted here, and the Mill Store checkout.

Questions, corrections, or a request to see or delete what we hold: support@dahntahnduels.com, or file a slip on Tell the Foreman and pick "My data — show it or delete it". Either way a person reads it and answers. We aim to reply within 30 days.
Nothing on this list is gathered in the background. Each row happens because you filled in a form or made a purchase.
| When you… | We store | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sign up for the Shift Report | Your email address and the date you signed up. | To email you about updates and releases. |
| Send a "Tell the Foreman" message | Your message, the category you picked, the date, and your email only if you chose to give one. | To read your feedback and reply if you asked for a reply. |
| Play the browser demo | Anonymous progress events — a random session id, which fights were reached, when the session ended. No name, no email, no IP address, no browser fingerprint. Your save itself stays in your own browser's local storage and is never sent to us. | To see where the demo loses people so we can fix that part of the game. |
| Buy from the Mill Store | Shipping name and address, an optional phone number for the courier, what you ordered, the amounts, and PayPal's order and capture reference numbers. | To ship your order, handle returns, and keep the sales records the tax authorities expect. |
Checkout is handled by PayPal. Card numbers, bank details and PayPal login credentials go straight to them — they are never sent to, seen by, or stored on our server. We receive only the shipping details and a confirmation that payment completed.
If you play the Steam version, leaderboard entries are submitted with your Steam ID and the score, and Steam handles achievements and cloud saves under Valve's own privacy policy. Public Steam information shown on this site (player counts, announcements) is fetched by our server and cached; nothing about you is stored in the process.
The public pages set no cookies and run no third-party analytics. The staff-only shop desk uses one session cookie so the person running the store stays logged in. To limit rapid repeat submissions, the server briefly writes a scrambled, one-way version of the requesting IP address to a temporary file; it is not readable as an address, not kept in any record, and is discarded automatically.
Two companies, both only with what they need to do their job:
We also have a web host that stores the site and its files. Beyond that: nobody. We do not sell, rent, trade, or hand over your information for advertising, and we have no advertising partners to hand it to. If the law compelled us with a valid legal order, we would comply — that has never happened.
Whatever state or country you are in, we will honour these — you do not need to quote a law at us:
Write to the address at the top of this page. We are a very small studio, so a human reads it — allow a few days.
This site and store are not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete it.
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will also go out in the Shift Report.
